Open the Door.
Sometimes it’s easier to open a door that feels comfortable to us. That leads us into a room with others who share and believe in a similar point of view. We make friends with them. So even when we differ on a topic, it can be hard to walk out of the room and open a new door. But our brains gravitate to learning new things. So staying in that room too long can lead to a little cynicism and even frustration. One way to get around this is waking up each day opening a different door. The door to Optimism. Through that door things feel new, different than how you may be thinking. If you feel uncomfortable, breathe. Very soon our brains will open back up. Learn new things. See the situation from a new angle. And you’ll have new people in this room to share your point of view with, to shift their perspective so they learn something new too. Just do it with kindness. Appreciate something new you learned from them first. Remember the sign on the door: Be Optimistic. Coming together in 94965 depends on it.
