Together we will light the way to equitable public education for all.

3 Core Pillars to Our Unity Vision.

Come Together.

We first need to harness the collective power of our incredible teachers, administrators and community members at both Bayside MLK + WCA. Then come together as one unified, equitable public school. By using natural forces that bring humans together - Food, Sport and Art - we will overcome historic divides and become a powerhouse of educational innovation.

Build Sustainability.

We must build in academic, fiscal and environmental sustainability at every step. Academic programs must lift every student up and marry social justice with academic excellence to create integrated learning environments. Budgets must balance and be understandable to the community we serve. Programs must align to the needs of our planet. This is how we build impact that lasts.

Tell the World.

We have an opportunity here to lead the way for the rest of our country and our planet. When our academics are where they need to be for all kids, and we have come together as an integrated multi-cultural community, and also built sustainability for generations to come, then that’s a story we can tell the world.

Our Yas4Unity 5 Priorities.

Equity for All.

My first priority is to swiftly desegregate Bayside MLK as identified by the California Attorney General’s office.

The most inclusive and sustainable way to achieve this goal is by supporting our District’s Comprehensive Education and Unification Plans. Both have been created collaboratively by school leadership, educators, parents and community members.

I fully support bringing together the very best of Bayside MLK and Willow Creek Academy into a single PreK-8 traditional public school leveraging the innovative dual language, STAR, project based learning curriculum outline in the Comprehensive Plan. Unifying our schools will desegregate our schools & bring high quality education - including advance learning programs - to our students.

Fiscal Integrity and Transparency.

As a former Internal Auditor for Bank for America, I will manage our school budget with fiscal integrity and transparency, optimizing every penny spent. My 10 year experience as a local business owner - with no debt and balanced budgets annually - will bring a focus on fiscal integrity to our unified school.

But my work doesn’t stop there. With my auditing background comes a long career in communications working with 3 Olympic Games. I know the importance of making information easily accessible and digestible to all of us in today’s busy world.

I will ensure our school budgets are easily understood by parents and community members through a 21st century school district website and communications program. This financial transparency will build trust in our school operations and our District board.

Close Student Gaps.

Let’s reimagine learning environments to eradicate the opportunity, achievement, and technology gaps for our most vulnerable students (lifting up all students in the process).

My first priority is investing in Early Education through a robust TK and PreK program (shown to be the most powerful way to close achievement gaps).

I will also fully harness the power of key programs including: The Community Schools, mentorship, mindfulness, tutoring, SEL, and robust after-school electives in sports, arts and more to meet the holistic needs of children.

As a parent of two middle schoolers, I’m passionate about building a bridge for all students to high school, apprenticeships, and individual paths to realize students’ dreams.

World-Class Education Team.

Let’s attract, retain and inspire innovative, collaborative educators that bring to life our District's Comprehensive Education Plan and represent our diverse student body. I plan to put students at the center of all decisions by listening and learning from our superintendent, teachers, and staff for they look at the needs of all students they serve each day.

I support innovative affordable housing ideas for teachers and staff to live on school campuses and within the community they serve.

My collaborative, positive leadership style will ensure our new unified school culture at all levels - from the district board to every parent volunteer on the ground - feels heard and valued. Everyone will be part of a ‘Yes, we can!’ team-oriented culture and integral to the success of our unified school.

Climate Leadership.

We have an incredible opportunity to lead the way in our global climate crises, solve local issues and nurture the next generation of environmental stewards.

Our students have the power to be innovative leaders - from environmental scientists, lawyers, researchers, teachers - setting them up for success in our green economy. This starts by connecting students with our natural resources from preschool on up.

As the only school board candidate running a green campaign, I walk the climate talk.

As a Trustee I will hold up the GREEN flag to integrate earthy friendly solutions into our facilities, curriculum, outdoor learning spaces, healthy meals programs, school supplies, recycled uniform programs and more.
