2020 Message

Congratulations to all the inspiring youth leaders in the Class of 2020!

I am so inspired by the promise you all hold dear in your hearts for our collective future. Hold that torch HIGH as together you LIGHT THE WAY to a future filled with new energy, FIERCE determination and infectious passion around real change, real action. From racial equity, environmental protection and ingenuity, and so much more. You all hold the power to elevate the conversation, overcome divides, unite communities and release our dreams with the wings of hope and purpose.

You all will not let words stay idle in conversation. For that I know for sure. You will turn ideas into ACTION. You will let your dreams fly. And in so doing, inspire a Nation. A generation. Leaving your everlasting mark on our world like no other.

Walk on. March on, arm-in-arm. One step bravely in front of the other. Always looking forward through the fog with your 2020 vision, letting your own light guide you in the darkness.

Congratulations to all 2020 graduates around the world. In every community. In every school big or small.

And a big collective community high five to the OUTRIGHT INSPIRING 8th grade graduates right here in our 94965 family - the Class of 2020 at Bayside MLK and Willow Creek Academy. Like so many, I have had the humble honor to meet many of you over the years. With the hope of crossing paths with many more.
